It reads your adapter and offers the subnet you are on. Type a different one if you want. No configuration, no profile to build first.

ARP, ICMP, TCP, mDNS, SSDP, WS-Discovery and NetBIOS run together. Results appear as they arrive rather than after everything finishes.

Read the evidence

Open any device to see which probe said what. The identification is an argument you can check, not an answer you have to trust.

Export CSV or JSON on the free tier. Pro produces a PDF with your details on it that a client can actually keep.

The rule the product is built on

ScanWRX will tell you it does not know.

A scanner that always produces an answer is producing some answers it made up. That is fine until you put one in a document with your name on it.

So a model number appears only when the device reported that model itself. Anything inferred from a MAC prefix, an open port or a service banner is capped below “confirmed” and labelled with the evidence it came from. A randomised MAC is never attributed to a manufacturer. And when Find Device catches two disconnections at once, it names neither and shows you both.

Confirmed

The device reported this model itself, over mDNS, SNMP or its own web interface.

High confidence

Several independent signals agree. Inference is capped at 85% no matter how many agree.

Likely

One signal, usually the MAC manufacturer plus an open port. Worth checking.

Unknown

It answered, and said nothing about itself. Shown as an address, with no invented name.
